About Supabase

Supabase gives an app its backend: a Postgres database, user sign-in, file storage, realtime updates and server functions, all managed from one dashboard. It also stores vector embeddings, which AI features such as search over your documents rely on.
Many prompt-to-app builders, including Lovable and Bolt, set up a Supabase project for you, so non-developers end up using it without choosing it directly. It is open source and can be self-hosted.
Learn the basics of row-level security, because it decides who can read and write each table. Check the limits of the free plan and set up backups before real users arrive. The dashboard includes a table editor and a SQL editor, so you can inspect data directly when something looks wrong.
